Qatar Airways announced plans to launch flights to Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt on December 3, 2021.
The new route will follow the resumption of operations to Luxor on November 23 with four weekly flights, and the current increase in flights from Cairo to three times a day.
With services from Luxor and the launch of flights to Sharm El Sheikh, Qatar Airways will operate a total of 34 flights per week to Egypt.
The carrier will operate the new Sharm El-Sheikh service with two flights per week on Tuesdays and Fridays using Airbus A320s configured with 12 seats in first class and 132 seats in economy class.
Flight QR1311 is scheduled to depart Doha (DOH) at 9:00 a.m. and arrive in Sharm el-Sheikh (SSH) at 10:45 a.m. The return flight, QR1312, is scheduled to depart Sharm el-Sheikh at 1:15 p.m. and arrive in Doha at 5:30 p.m.
Qatar Airways flights to Luxor will be operated every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Flight QR1321 is scheduled to depart Doha (DOH) at 08:25 am and arrive in Luxor (LXR) at 11:00 am. The return trip, QR1322, is scheduled to leave Luxor at 12:10 pm and arrive in Doha at 4:05 pm.
The resumption of operations to Luxor and the launch of flights to Sharm el-Sheikh will allow passengers to connect to more than 140 destinations in the Qatar Airways network.
The upcoming expansion of services to and from Egypt is timely, as Qatar will host the 2021 FIFA Arab Cup from November 30 to December 18, 2021.
